   BPC ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT SERVICE

Properties Management

Properties are key-value data elements used to manage preferences, settings, configurations, or any other attributes of business objects not directly represented as base fields. The BPC Account Management Service permits any number of properties to be associated with users and accounts. Properties may also be associated directly with hierarchy groups. Within the Relationship Hierarchy, properties flow through from higher-level groups to lower-level groups so that settings can be configured once and apply to all lower-level groups, users, or accounts. An override mechanism permits specific properties set at lower levels of the hierarchy to overrule those flowing through from higher levels. User-specific or account-specific property settings may also be configured to take precedence per firm requirements.

Properties may be used throughout the BPC Suite or integrated non-BPC applications to extend data management capabilities, set various preferences, and configure business rule options. In this way, firms may benefit from centralized management of enterprise preferences and settings used to personalize user interface options, drive business rules, or control any other configurable application behaviors.
