Portfolio Accounting Engine The Portfolio Accounting Engine maintains ledger history, tax-lots, positions, realized and unrealized gains/losses, and cash and margin balances for all common accounting methods, provides rapid access to portfolio information, and offers the means for the application of trade executions, posting of back-office transactions, and automated reconciliation against one or more books and records systems. The engine is fully transaction-based with lots, positions, balances, and realized gain/loss derived through transaction netting. For performance reasons, all derived elements are persisted, but the addition, modification, or deletion of current or historical transactions results in real-time adjustment. Subsequent requests for portfolio information require little if any additional computation and response times are extremely quick. The Portfolio Accounting Engine uses account activity information provided through interfaces to back-office systems and order management systems, live and historical pricing information, and daily corporate action information to maintain portfolio elements. The engine supports both event-driven and batch integration and provides robust non-repudiation through full transactional integrity and comprehensive audit logging. |
